Mishkat al-anwar (Divine Sayings)
One of the first collections of its kind, it records 101 divine sayings (hadith qudsi), focusing primarily on the absolute forgiveness and mercy of God.

Hilyat al-Abdal (Adornment of the Substitutes)
This describes the four corner-stones of the spiritual path: seclusion, silence, hunger and wakefulness.

Ruh al-quds (Epistle of the Spirit of Holiness)
It contains three sections, including a series of biographical sketches of Sufi masters in the West.

Taj al-rasa'il (Crown of Epistles)
This contains eight love-letters composed in honour of the Ka'ba.

If the gnostic is a person of high degree, his soul will become a stranger to him. He is obliged to feel affection for himself, just as he is obliged to feel affection for others.
